Hegira vase

This piece is designed to commemorate the sacred moment in the Cave of Thawr, where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr sought refuge while fleeing from the polytheists during the Hijra. With a spider's web woven at the cave's entrance and a dove nesting there, no human trace was visible; when the polytheists reached the entrance, they did not suspect anyone was inside.

When Abu Bakr felt anxious, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him:

"Indeed, Allah is with us." (Surah At Tawbah, 40)

Accordingly, this verse is inscribed in Ottoman script on the vase.

The design is entirely hand-crafted.
