Josef Hoffmann (December 15, 1870 – May 7, 1956) was an Austrian-Moravian architect and one of the most prominent industrial designers and architects of his time. His creations represent the functionality and simplicity of artisan production, refined and innovative details, and a harmonious blend of abstract and geometric elements.
This wall light is inspired by his piece titled “Aufsatz” A Hammered Brass Centerpiece, which was also exhibited at the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs. Our work is crafted entirely by hand using traditional production techniques, in line with the methods Hoffmann employed. The added eye motif detail represents both the ESVEDNÂME design line and honors the original designer.
